Corporate Structure Events Involving Regulated Utilities: The Need for a Multidisciplinary, Multijurisdictional Approach

Written after the 2005 repeal of the Public Utility Holding Company Act, this article emphasizes the state regulators' role in protecting consumers and competition from holding company arrangements.  It focuses on the independent contributions of regulation's array of professions:  law, engineering, economics, finance, accounting and management.  It also presents a grid showing the seven categories of corporate structure events, intersecting those categories with regulators’ options.
